About us

Minnesota Dog is a small Minnesota manufacturer building equipment for working dogs and the people who depend on it.

Most of what we make starts with a simple question: where will this fail? From there, we work backward. Hardware, webbing, rope, stitching, and geometry are selected as parts of one system, not as a list of premium-sounding materials.

We build and prototype our equipment in Minnesota, develop our own fixtures and construction methods, and use independent destructive testing to find out what a finished product actually does under load. When we publish a strength number, it comes from a tested sample.

That approach has taken Minnesota Dog well beyond a typical pet brand. We now build professional K9 equipment, develop specialized sewn assemblies, work with custom hardware, and participate in ASTM F15.05 pet-product standards work.

Minnesota Dog was founded by Nathan Raines, a Marine veteran and two-time Purple Heart recipient. The company is an SBA-certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business.

We are still a small manufacturer, and that matters. Product development, testing, and production decisions stay close to the bench. If something can be made stronger, cleaner, or more repeatable, we change it.
